MISSION
The Student Pastor is called by God and commissioned by the church to lead a Christ-centered, gospel-driven ministry to students (grades 7–12) that equips families, strengthens the home, and raises up resilient disciples of Jesus Christ. This role exists to partner with parents as the primary disciple-makers in the lives of their children (Deut. 6:4–9; Eph. 6:4), helping students grow into lifelong followers of Christ who love God, love His Word, and live on mission.
The Student Pastor serves as a key leader within the Family Ministry Team (Preschool, Children, Students),working in unity under the leadership of the Family Pastor, and in alignment with the vision cast by the Lead Pastor, to cultivate a church-wide culture of milestones and moments, intergenerational discipleship, and gospel-centered homes.
This is not merely a ministry position—it is an invitation to join a movement of God, trusting Him to bring revival through hearts and homes for generations to come (Psalm 78:4–7).

QUALIFICATIONS
The Student Pastor will:
1. Demonstrate a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a life marked by surrender and
discipleship (Matthew 16:24–27).
2. Exhibit humble, Christlike servant leadership (Luke 22:24–27; 1 Peter 5:1–4).
3. Meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership (1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:6–9).
4. Possess a clear calling to student ministry within the local church and a passion for reaching and
discipling the next generation.
5. Wholeheartedly embrace and champion Wedgwood’s vision for family ministry, intergenerational
discipleship, and equipping parents.
6. Demonstrate a heart for evangelism and a commitment to raising up students who are bold in their faith
(Matthew 28:18–20).
7. Have experience in local church ministry, particularly with students and families.
8. Hold a bachelor’s degree (seminary training preferred).
9. Show competency in communication, organization, and digital tools for ministry effectiveness.

FUNCTIONS
1. LEADERSHIP
Objective: Provide vision, strategy, and leadership for Student Ministry in alignment with the church’s
Family Ministry philosophy.
• Lead a comprehensive, gospel-centered ministry that integrates with Preschool and Children’s Ministries
as one unified Family Ministry Team.
• Develop and communicate a clear strategy for discipling students that emphasizes:
o Gospel fluency
o Biblical worldview
o Spiritual resilience
o Missional living
o Spiritual growth in using spiritual gifts to serve the church
• Champion the Milestones & Moments framework, ensuring intentional discipleship markers
throughout the student years.
• Equip and lead a strong team of volunteers who disciple students relationally and faithfully.
• Shepherd and develop a Student Leadership Team, raising up student leaders who influence their
peers for Christ.
• Regularly evaluate ministry effectiveness in partnership with staff, parents, and volunteers.

2. FAMILY EQUIPPING & DISCIPLESHIP
Objective: Equip parents to disciple their students and cultivate gospel-centered homes.
• Lead the ministry with a conviction that parents are the primary disciple-makers.
• Provide tools, training, and encouragement for parents to lead spiritually in their homes.
• Partner closely with families through communication, coaching, and pastoral care.
• Create environments where students grow through:
o Biblical teaching
o Small group discipleship
o Mentoring relationships
• Invest relationally in students—knowing them, shepherding them, and pointing them to Christ.
• Celebrate and lead key milestones, including:
o Student baptisms
o AION Path Rite of Passage
o Graduation and next-step commissioning

3. OUTREACH & MISSION
Objective: Reach lost students and mobilize students to live on mission.
• Cultivate a culture where students actively share the gospel with their friends (Acts 1:8).
• Lead outreach efforts to engage the unchurched in the community, including local schools.
• Oversee and lead key ministry initiatives, including:
o Student Camp & Student Mission Trips
o Cultivating Strong Relationships with local Middle & High Schools & their Students
o Disciple Now Weekends
o Student Retreats
• Encourage students to live missionally in their schools, homes, and communities.

4. MINISTRY ADMINISTRATION & STRATEGIC OVERSIGHT
Objective: Faithfully steward the ministry through organization, planning, and communication.
• Oversee planning and execution of all student ministry events and initiatives.
• Supervise and lead TCU fundraising efforts connected to student ministry.
• Manage and steward the student ministry budget with integrity.
• Ensure clear, consistent communication with students, parents, and volunteers.
• Utilize digital platforms effectively to advance ministry vision and engagement.

5. TRANSITION & NEXT GENERATION CONTINUITY
Objective: Ensure students are prepared for lifelong discipleship beyond high school.
• Partner with the College & Young Adult Ministry Leader to create a clear pathway for students
transitioning after graduation.
• Intentionally disciple seniors toward strong, enduring faith in adulthood.
• Help students connect to the local church beyond the student ministry years.

6. TEAMWORK & ACCOUNTABILITY
Objective: Serve faithfully within the leadership structure and unified mission of the church.
• Serve as a vital member of the Family Ministry Team, working in unity across all age groups.
• Submit joyfully to the leadership of the Family Pastor, and ultimately to the Lead Pastor (Hebrews
13:17).
• Collaborate with church staff and ministry leaders to advance the overall mission of the church.
• Foster a spirit of humility, unity, and shared mission among staff and volunteers.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Family Pastor or Lead Pastor.

CLASSIFICATION
• Full-Time; Exempt

SUPERVISION
• Reports directly to the Family Pastor
• Works under the vision and leadership of the Lead Pastor

WORK SCHEDULE
• Minimum of 40 hours per week, with flexibility for ministry demands
• Participation in church-wide events, camps, and mission opportunities required
