Pastoral Internship Job Description
Roles of an Intern
1. Assist in the planning and executing of all aspects of ministry at Highland View Baptist
Church of Port St. Joe, Florida, thus, gaining valuable experience across all ministry
areas.
2. Share vision and direction of the Senior Pastor (Mac McMillan) as guided by the Lord
and confirmed by the church.
Responsibilities of an Intern
3. Co-vocational ministry (20 hours per week, liberally construed and flexibly applied)
4. Supporting the church staff and volunteers to carry the theme of Highland View Baptist
Church to the community (“You Are Family Here”), and the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the
World
5. Tasks to include but not limited to –
a. Planning, setting up and helping with Vacation Bible School
b. Scheduling and assisting in local and foreign mission projects
c. Leading gatherings and Bible studies
d. Meet weekly with Mac for discipleship and spiritual growth
e. Begin to develop a working knowledge of ministry
f. Other tasks as assigned
Length of Employment
6. To Be Determined by goals and aspirations of the Intern.
8. Compensation:
a. Housing 3/2 brick home
b. 250 yards from “the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches,” the St. Joseph Bay, and a
vibrant growing community
c. No cash compensation, but Mac is Co-Vocational and has been for the most part
of 35 years in ministry

Mac McMillan has been involved in ministry since before his graduation from Bible
College in 1987; he and his wife, Dee, have helped to plant churches on a nation-wide basis. Mac has a B.A. in Church Ministries, a M.Min. in Practical Theology, and a J.D. in Law. He is a full-time pastor and a practicing attorney. Dee has a B.S. in Elementary Education; she is a retired, but veteran teacher.
