Pastor

FBC Ozona is a small church (roughly 20-25 weekly attendance) in southern Mississippi that is seeking to make a real change in our community and the world. The church is nestled in the heart of the Ozona residential community, meaning that in every direction there are homes of people who need Christ and a church in which to be equipped to pursue and serve Him. We are looking for a pastor who is prepared to lead us into the future, as we personally grow as disciples of Christ, and attempt to find ways to invite others on the same journey.

The role of the pastor is to preach the Word of God, lead the church in its various ministries, seek and win lost souls to Christ, and perform such other ministerial duties consistent with New Testament Christianity. The Pastor will also act in an administerial role, recommending to the church members a suitable candidate to fill any staff vacancies, and supervising the work and assignment of duties of church staff. The pastor will also serve as resource and advisor to all boards, committees, and organizations of the church and shall participate in deliberations as each desires.

The ideal candidate is one who takes seriously the call to preach the Word faithfully, and can do so both truthfully and skillfully, who leads with conviction and wisdom, and who is both in tune with and in submission to the Holy Spirit at all times. Leadership cannot be done in absence of relationship, and as such, the pastor should genuinely love and care for the members of the church, as well as the community around him. The candidate must fulfill all Biblical requirements of a pastor, as outlined in passages such as 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5, as well as being of outstanding moral character.
